AASFAA invites all active members to join us for "Free Fall into Community," a member-exclusive virtual training series designed to strengthen our network, spark collaborative problem-solving, and provide critical technical guidance.
Hosted select Wednesdays at 1:00 PM, these 60-minute virtual sessions combine high-value regulatory insights with peer-to-peer discussion. Best of all, this series is completely free as a benefit of your AASFAA membership!
Session Schedule & Details:
1. AZ Roundtable: COA, Loans, & System Operations Wednesday, September 16 | 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Kick off the fall season with an interactive, peer-led roundtable tailored specifically for Arizona financial aid administrators. We’ll dive into operational strategies around Cost of Attendance (COA) calculations, loan processing workflows, and system optimization. Bring your questions, institutional best practices, and lessons learned to share with colleagues across the state!
2. Conflicting Information and Fraud Wednesday, October 14 | 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Mitigating risk and ensuring compliance are top priorities for every financial aid office. This session focuses on detecting, evaluating, and resolving conflicting student information, as well as recognizing red flags for potential fraud scheme trends. Learn actionable steps to safeguard your institution while remaining compliant with federal regulations.
3. The Freeze: Pell Recalculation, R2T4, COA, & Loans Wednesday, November 18 | 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Navigating census dates and snapshot policies can make or break compliance. In this deep-dive technical session, we will unpack the mechanics of "The Freeze"—exploring how snapshot dates impact Pell Recalculations, Return of Title IV Funds (R2T4) requirements, COA adjustments, and Direct Loan disbursements. Ensure your team’s processes are locked in before the end of the term.
